This production by VEDŞT (Ve Diğer Şeyler Topluluğu), a theatre group founded in 2002 by Yeşim Özsoy Gülan, offers an interesting mixture of drama and fine arts. A young couple inherits a house and wants to demolish it in order to build a new one on the site. But two old ladies who live there do not want to move out and as the play unfolds in their flat, the audience experiences the absurd arguments and weird changes that begin to affect the protagonists and their surroundings. This production was a highlight of the 14th International Istanbul Theatre Festival in May 2004.

Street noises, ambient cacophony, Anatolian rock, traditional Turkish music or simply the miaowing of a cat – to Baba Zula, any sound or noise from Istanbul is ideal material for their sound spectacle: »Psychedelic Oriental Music«. This innovative group’s extravagant club performances in the metropolis on the Bosphorus are a must for those looking for what is cool or hip in Istanbul.
