A group of young people is practising a traditional folk dance. Artist Fikret Atay filmed the dancers from the hips downwards. Their clothes, shoes and synchronised steps all look exactly the same which makes it impossible for the viewer to tell the difference between male and female dancers. Atay, who was born in 1976 in Batman, already showed his video works in 2003 at the 8th International Istanbul Biennial curated by Dan Cameron. His works defy a clear interpretation, but bewilder, surprise and challenge the viewer.
