Songs of brotherhood from Anatolia. Kardeş Türküler, in
existence for 12 years, counts as one of the most celebrated folk ensembles that have helped the Kurdish songs of Anatolia regain cultural recognition in Turkey. This dedicated band skilfully combines modern folk with protest music, sometimes with their own compositions and sometimes with revivals of old songs from Anatolia. Today, they perform to full houses in Turkey and their song »Mirkut« is one of those hits no multicultural party in Berlin can do without.
