Percussionist Burhan Öçal, the virtuoso sorcerer of Turkish music, has everyone raving critics and audience alike. Well-known for his performances with Sting, he cultivates a style somewhere between oriental rhythms, jazz, hip-hop, gypsy and classical music. His latest project is a homage to the sounds of his native western Turkey. With his Trakya All Stars he combines the best virtuosos of traditional music with the electronic mastery of French musician Smadj. The »electro-ethnic« result is a thrilling mixture of music from different eras and different worlds.
